The euro/dollar is calm on Friday

13.06.2014
In the end of the week the main currency pair is once again under pressure from the "bears", but the sellers are not very active before the weekend.

The euro/dollar by end of this week does not show major changes in its trajectory of movement, but remains under a principle pressure from the "bears." Activity in the major pair is below average. The daytime statistics for the euro area were already played out by the investors, ahead are the evening stats on the U.S., including indicators on the consumer confidence index from the University of Michigan for June and data on producer price index for May.

The European report published in the afternoon, showed growth in the number of people employed in the region during the first three months by 0.1% compared to the levels of the fourth quarter. It turns out, that figure is growing for the second consecutive quarter, after a pause in the third quarter of 2013.

The year on year employment in the euro area in the first quarter increased by 0.2% after a 0.4% dip earlier. As a result, the number of employed in the euro area is 146.1 million people. The most stable labour market looks to be in Latvia and Hungary. There was a decline in Portugal, Italy and Cyprus.

It is worth noting that the labour segment remains a major problem for the euro area and the ECB, and this current data, frankly, does not especially change the overall picture.
