EURUSD starts the week with a slight growth; investors are carefully monitoring the risks.

The Euro is growing a little bit against the USD on Monday afternoon. The current quote for the instrument is 1.1810.

Today is the day when the economic calendar is totally empty, which means that market players have time to think and analyze what is happening. 

This week, investors may really require time and endurance. On Thursday, the Jackson Hole Economic Symposium will start in the USA. The highlight of the event is a long speech by the US Federal Reserve Chairman Jerome Powell on Friday. Market players are badly expecting some comments from Powell relating to the regulator’s monetary policy outlook because the current economic situation is quite clear. 

This time, the symposium will be held influenced by the “mood of the times” – online. As a rule, this event is pretty “bombastic” and attracts a lot of attention in the financial world but this time it may be rather calm and quiet. 

At the same time, investors are keeping a close eye on the US-Chinese conflict, which is not getting any better. The diplomatic skirmish continues and the current pause is really making market players nervous. 

In general, now it’s a very rare moment when financial markets can just watch and analyze.
