On Thursday afternoon, the main currency pair is moving without spirit and ideas and not reacting to the statistics.
The main currency pair stopped once again. The current quote for the instrument is 1.1094 and it almost hasn’t changed since the market opening.
Today, the USA published the statistics on jobless claims over the previous week. The indicator fell by 16 thousand and was 254 thousand. It very close to the multiyear low at 248 thousand, which was reached in April 2016. After “ups and downs” in May, the indicator stabilized and remained under a very important number of 300 thousand. Stabilization phase continues for 70 consecutive weeks.
Also, today they published the first essential indicator of the statistics block on the employment market this June. The number of employed in the private sector last month increased by 172 thousand people against the predicted number of 159 thousand. By the way, in May, according to ADP, the increase was 168 thousand. The major contribution into this was traditionally made by small and medium-sized businesses. This report makes a good foundation in anticipation of Friday’s reports: the unemployment level and non-farm payrolls.
We can’t exclude a possibility that the unemployment level might increase a little bit due to the delayed effect of May’s statistics. Whoever, these changes are more visual than real. Nevertheless, there is a lot of attention to tomorrow’s reports, more than ever.
