Pre-Market
The S&P 500 is 1.3% lower in premarket trading. It is a day of many surprises. Donald Trump unexpectedly became the 45th president of the United States. The S&P 500 traded limit down at -5% in global overnight trading. Asian markets slumped and the Mexican Peso lost 13% against the USD. Investors piled in to safe haven Gold, which rose 3%. The DAX opened down 2.9%, this level being the day´s low. By lunchtime, German stocks retraced strongly, the DAX now only trading 0.66% weaker. Major gainers in the DAX are pharmaceutical companies, as such Fresenius rises 3.36%. We expect Wall Street to open lower. The USD loses 1.33% to the Yen and gains slightly to the Euro. Gold trades up 2.38% whilst WTI Oil is unchanged.
