The Pound continues falling in price. Overview for 13.07.2018

The British Pound is falling against the USD on Friday afternoon. They have been selling the pair for the third trading session in a row. The current quote for the instrument is 1.3130.

As we speak, the US President Donald Trump is visiting to the United Kingdom. Yesterday, he already had a meeting with the British Prime Minister Theresa May, but will probably have more conferences and negotiations.

Investors are eagerly waiting for Trump’s comments on the Brexit. Earlier, the American leader said that the May’s strategy of the “soft” exiting from the European Union might destroy trade relations with the United States. Trump said that he had warned Theresa May about this, but she had chosen to ignore him and do the opposite.

Donald Trump also noticed, in characteristically explicit language of his, that Boris Johnson, ex-Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs, who had recently resigned from this position due to his disagreeing to Cabinet of Ministers on the relations with the EU, could become “a great leader of the country”. At the same time, Trump added that under no circumstances he wanted to sound like pushing two politicians against each other.

Trump believes that if the United Kingdom has the “soft” and “harmless” Brexit and keeps its trade relations with the European Union, there will barely be any relations between the USA and the United Kingdom. It’s not the best signal for Theresa May and her Brexit strategy.
