Ichimoku Cloud Analysis for 2013 (GBP/USD, GOLD)

Yearly Analysis for 2013

GBP/USD

GBPUSD, Time Frame Monthly – In August Tenkan-Sen and Kijun-Sen formed “Golden Cross”, but the cloud’s lower border pushed the price downwards. However, Kijun-Sen had been a support level for the price for three months and finally pushed it inside Kumo Cloud. The lines are horizontal, but Senkou Span B is almost directed downwards. Ichimoku Cloud is going down (2), Chinkou Lagging Span is rebounding from the chart upwards, and the price is above Tenkan-Sen and Kijun-Sen, inside Kumo Cloud. An inconsistency of indicator signals (Kumo Cloud going down and squeezing, the price being inside it, together with “Golden Cross” and Senkou Span B being directed downwards) is unlikely to allow the price to grow up inside the cloud. Most likely, the price will need support of Tenkan-Sen and Kijun-Sen, and even of Senkou Span A.

GBPUSD, Time Frame Weekly – Tenkan-Sen and Kijun-Sen intersected below Kumo Cloud and formed “Golden Cross” (1); all lines are horizontal. Ichimoku Cloud is going up (2), Chinkou Lagging Span is far above the chart, and the price is above the lines. Forecast for January: we can expect support of Tenkan-Sen.

GBPUSD, Time Frame Daily – Tenkan-Sen and Kijun-Sen intersected below Kumo Cloud and formed “Golden Cross” (1); Kijun-Sen and Senkou Span A are directed upwards, Tenkan-Sen and Senkou Span B are horizontal. Ichimoku Cloud is going up (2), Chinkou Lagging Span is above the chart, and the price is below Tenkan‑Sen and Kijun‑Sen, above Kumo Cloud. Forecast for January: we can expect the price to fall down to reach the cloud and then start moving upwards.

GOLD

GOLD, Time Frame Monthly – Tenkan-Sen and Kijun-Sen are under pressure of “Golden Cross” (March of 2002); all lines are horizontal. Ichimoku Cloud is going up (2), Chinkou Lagging Span is above the chart and moving towards it, the price is on Tenkan‑Sen, above Kumo Cloud. In the future we can expect the price to fall down towards the cloud’s lower border.

GOLD, Time Frame Weekly – Indicator signals: Tenkan-Sen and Kijun-Sen intersected below Kumo Cloud and formed “Golden Cross” (1); Tenkan-Sen, Kijun-Sen, and Senkou Span A are horizontal, Senkou Span B is directed upwards. Ichimoku Cloud is going up (2), Chinkou Lagging Span is above the chart, and the price is below Tenkan‑Sen and Kijun‑Sen, inside Kumo Cloud. Kumo Cloud is unlikely to let the price leave it         over the next couple of months. In addition to that, in December Tenkan-Sen was quite a strong resistance level and may continue being the same in January as well, despite the fact that the cloud is expanding.

GOLD, Time Frame Daily – Indicator signals: Tenkan-Sen and Kijun-Sen intersected inside Kumo Cloud and formed “Golden Cross” (1); all lines are horizontal. Ichimoku Cloud is going down (2), Chinkou Lagging Span is far below the chart, and the price is below the lines. In the future we can expect resistance of Tenkan-Sen and the price to enter the channel between Tenkan‑Sen and Kijun‑Sen.
