At the end of the week, the GBP/USD pair is growing slowly, the Pound is being supported by the statistics.
On Friday, the British Pound is gaining weight a little bit. The current quote for the instrument is 1.2974. This week’s low was at 1.2914.
According to the statistics published today, the consumer confidence in the UK improved up to -1 points after -7 points in August, although the predicted number was -5 points. Today’s report showed the most significant monthly growth over the last year.
Consumers’ opinions are used for calculating the indicator components. It appears that there are no signs of stress in the British economy, except for the comments from monetary politicians and external reactions.
Probably, right now all mechanisms launched earlier are operating secretly: the labor market remains stable and creates new jobs, salaries grow faster that retail prices. As a result, all this improves consumers’ sentiments.
