Purchasing Managers Index (PMI Index)

Purchasing Managers Index (PMI Index)

It is information received from surveys of purchasing managers regarding the producing industry. It helps to follow the changes in new production orders, volume of industrial production, employment, amount of supply orders and, supplier efficiency. Readings below 45-50 tell about reduction in economic development. PMI (Purchasing Managers Index) is often influenced by emotion factors, rather than the actual situation. PMI Index (EMU) is carefully followed, because the volume of industrial production is not automatically a source of consumer demand. The indicator has limited online forex market influence. A value increase of this index leads to euro rate growth. The data on PMI Index is published on the first business day of each month.
